Munich and its royal heritage

Day 1: After arrival in Munich you will have the opportunity to get a first overview of the city. Your guide will introduce you to its main landmarks on a city tour on foot and/or by coach. Night in the hotel in Munich.

 

Day 2: Today you will start to explore Munich’s royal heritage, following in the footsteps of Bavaria’s “fairy-tale king” Ludwig II and his predecessors during a visit to the Nymphenburg palace. In the evening dinner and entertainment in one of Munich’s famous breweries. Night in the hotel in Munich.

 

Day 3: Day trip to two of Ludwig II’s favourite castles: Linderhof, and of course the most famous of them all, Neuschwanstein. Night in the hotel in Munich.

 

Day 4.: End of our services after breakfast and check-out. Why not take your final day in Munich as an opportunity to explore the city’s shopping streets or one of the numerous museums in town.


The Romantic Route

Day 1: Arrival in Würzburg at midday. You will start your journey on the Romantic Route in this old Episcopal city, where your guide will introduce you to its many sights on a guided tour by coach and on foot. Night in the hotel in Würzburg.

 

Day 2: Today’s highlight will be a visit to Rothenburg ob der Tauber with its well-preserved medieval town wall. In the late afternoon you will continue further south towards your hotel in Augsburg.

 

Day 3: After breakfast you will have ample time to explore the city of Augsburg, where you will have a guided tour and some free time. Night in the hotel in Augsburg.

 

Day 4: Today should be the highlight of your trip on the Romantic Route. You will drive past Landsberg am Lech, slowly approaching the Wieskirche near Steingaden. After a short drive from the Wieskirche and lunch you will pay a visit to the castle of Neuschwanstein, arguably Germany’s best-known landmark. In the late afternoon, you will make your way towards your hotel in Munich. To round off the day a Bavarian evening in Munich’s famous Hofbräuhaus will be offered including dinner and entertainment. Night in the hotel in Munich.

 

Day 5: End of services after breakfast and check-out. Why not take your final day in Munich as an opportunity to explore the city’s sights or shopping streets or one of the numerous museums in town.

 

 

Berlin – where East and West are a thing of the past

Day 1: After arrival in Berlin you will have an opportunity to get a first overview of this vibrant city and its eventful history on a guided coach tour, taking you past Berlin’s main landmarks, in both East and West. Night in the hotel in Berlin.

 

Day 2: The focus of your programme for today will be on the Eastern part of the city, the former capital of the GDR. Starting at the Brandenburg Gate your guide will introduce you in more depth to the traces of pre-World War II Berlin as well as its time as a divided and a reunited city. Free time. Night in the hotel in Munich.

 

Day 3: After breakfast you will explore Berlin’s western part on a boat-trip on the river Spree. Starting near the Charlottenburg Palace you will head towards Berlin Mitte, floating past some of Berlin’s best-known landmarks. The rest of the day is free for lunch and independent activities. Why not explore one of the many museums or even Berlin’s renowned zoo, where polar bear baby Knut knows how to entertain the masses?

 

Day 4: In the morning of your final day in Berlin, you will set off for an excursion to Potsdam and its Sanssouci Palace. A guided tour of the palace and its terraces and gardens (only from 01.04.-31.10.) will conclude our services in Berlin. In addition or as an alternative we can offer a visit to the Filmpark Babelsberg in Potsdam (open April-October). End of services.

 

 

Cologne

Day 1: Arrival in Cologne. Meet your guide for a city tour on foot or by coach, taking you inside the cathedral and the main sights of the city. In a city that boasts more breweries than any other city in Germany, you finish the evening in style: In one of the most famous beer halls of Cologne you will not only have the opportunity to savour Cologne’s favourite drink, the Kölsch beer, but also other culinary specialities from the city. Night in the hotel in Cologne.

 

Day 2: After breakfast in the hotel it is time to discover what makes people from Cologne tick on the infamous Kölsch-Tour. The tour ends in one of the breweries in Cologne, where you should not give a miss to the complimentary Kölsch. Lunch in the brewery’s beer hall is also possible. Free time. Night in the hotel in Cologne.

 

Day 3: In the morning a boat trip on the river Rhine will introduce you to another side of Cologne, offering an impressive view of the city and its sights from the river. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of sights to explore independently with the Köln Welcome Card. Mount the cathedral’s spire, visit the collections of the Wallraff-Richartz-Museum or the chocolate museum and lots more. Night in the hotel in Cologne.

 

Day 4: End of services after breakfast and check-out.

 

 

Frankfurt

Day 1: After arrival in Frankfurt you will explore both the city’s modern financial district with some of the masterpieces of contemporary architecture, as well as Frankfurt’s historic centre with the “Römer”, the city’s medieval town hall. In the bar in the town hall’s cellar you will also have a first opportunity to taste Frankfurt’s cider specialty, the “Ebbelwei”. Dinner in a typical restaurant in Alt-Sachsenhausen. Night in the hotel in Frankfurt.

Day 2: Day trip to Heidelberg, one of Germany’s most famous university towns and a romantic jewel on the Neckar river. Your guide will take you to the impressive ruins of Heidelberg’s castle. The second part of the day will be dedicated to a visit to Germany’s Formula 1 racecourse in Hockenheim and its motor-sports’ museum. Should you prefer a more tranquil setting, we can replace this second visit by an excursion to the palace of Schwetzingen and its magnificent gardens. Night in the hotel in Frankfurt.

 

Day 3: Another day trip will conclude your stay in Frankfurt. In the morning you will travel to the romantic Rhine valley, where you will visit the scenic wine towns of Rüdesheim and St. Goarshausen. On a boat you will sail past the steep Loreley rock, on which you might still be able to see the beautiful Rhine Maiden that is said to have lured many navigators of this river to their dooms with her singing. Return to Frankfurt. End of our services.
